TEEM Mission StatementTotal Equine Event Management’s (TEEM’s) goal is to manage horse shows that provide exhibitors a professional, organized, friendly, and efficient venue in which to show their horses; while also trying to encourage good sportsmanship and fun.
Who are we:
- Three friends.
- All had professional business/management/service careers.
- Have all shown horses.
- Worked for the best show managers in the industry.
- Worked every job required to run a successful horse show.
RL Davis:Horseman, retired law enforcement, show manager, announcer, gate person. RL was born in Tampa, Florida, served in the US Army and ultimately ended up in California stationed at “Two Rock” Army Base where he enrolled in College at Santa Rosa JC. He met and married Kathy Davis in Santa Rosa before moving to Sacramento and graduating from California State University, Sacramento. RL began his career in law enforcement in Ventura, CA and transferred after two years back to Sacramento. In Sacramento, he worked “as assigned” by the chief of police until gaining rank. After 28 years, RL retired to hone his riding skills and experience the cowboy life he always dreamed of doing.
Kathy Davis:Horsewoman, servant to the public, family and friends, horse show secretary, show office assistant, announcer, scribe and all around teem player. Kathy was born in Fort Bragg, California and grew up on a working sheep and timber ranch in the Northern California Coastal Range. Kathy has led a life of service to her family, friends, and to the State of California. Working in public service for the State of California, Kathy developed skills in management and program development, strategic planning, team leadership, facilitation, and large venue planning. Kathy’s passion for horses helped her bond with a remarkable equine individual named San Francisco Street, culminating in an incredible journey to NRHA’s Rookie of the Year show in Oklahoma City, OK.
Shelly: Equestrian, wife, loyal & supportive friend, 20 yr/Stage 4 cancer survivor, business woman, horse show secretary, show office assistant, announcer, scribe, gate and awards person and all around “teem” player. She believes the opportunity to experience a horse show from all viewpoints is something every exhibitor could benefit from prior to showing.
She has lived in such places as New York, La Jolla & Seattle working in commercial real estate development, the venture capital industry specializing in high technology & biotechnology investments, and Microsoft Corp. She is one of a small number of HR professionals nationally accredited as an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and she spent many years involved in employment law and HR development & training.
Shelly has been an avid competitor in the horse world since her youth, showing in All Around events, cutting, working cow horse & reining. As a cancer survivor, side effects from the cancer treatments no longer allow her to ride, but she continues to be involved by watching her husband - who happens to be an AQHA World Champion & Congress Champion in Amateur Heading, AQHA World Champion in Amateur Working Cowhorse, 2x NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion, and he has won multiple NCHA circuit championships. She & her husband raise Angus cattle and live on a ranch where they enjoy their horses, cattle and border collies.
